New law regarding E-invoices

Since April 1, 2019, a new law applies on e-invoicing resulting from public procurement (SFS 2018: 1277). The law means that MISU and Stockholm University from now on must be electronically invoiced. PDF invoices and paper invoices may no longer be received. A result of an EU directive, the law applies to all purchases that take place in the public sector, irrespective of whether the supplier is in Sweden or abroad. The law does not apply to expenses that you incur yourself and request compensation for.

More information about the law can be found at the Agency for Digital Government.

There are three ways that suppliers can use e-invoices to send to us:

  • Peppol (preferred)
  • SWE invoice via VAN operator
  • the service Fakturaportalen.se

More information and a form to fill out can be found at SU's page Faktura, betalningar och e-handel (Invoices, payments and e-commerce). The supplier is notified as soon as it is registered in SU's system.
