The Swedish Government has now decided that gatherings of more than 8 participants are not allowed. Therefore, Stockholm University has implemented restrictions on the number of people that can attend classes or exams on campus.

Policy for undergraduate education from November 24, 2020

The Department of Meteorology strongly believes that on-campus teaching is generally to be preferred from a pedagogical point of view. Especially practical elements in courses (such as labs) and exams are difficult to replace, whereas lectures can be more easily transferred online with preserved quality. At the same time, we feel a great responsibility towards both staff and students, and wish to minimise the risk for transmission of disease.

Teaching at MISU during the Spring Semester VT21 is being conducted as hybrid teaching and according to the course schedules. Teaching activities are not recorded. Any use of media in teaching is to the sole responsibility of the responsible teacher.

The following rules apply from November 24, 2020:

  • Teaching and exams on campus shall be limited to a maximum of eight students.
  • No hall-based exams shall be conducted, though on-site exams may be carried out for smaller groups.

In addition, the following applies:

  • Our teaching rooms have been adjusted to allow physical distancing
  • Students can only be at the department on days when they attend scheduled classes. Students are then urged not to reside on the premises before or after the class sessions.
  • The student pantry can be used during lunches and breaks between class sessions
  • Students and employees shall follow SU’s and Folkhälsomyndigheten’s guidance regarding Covid-19, see links below
  • Keep a distance (2 meters as often as possible) and respect that others may have a different view on what physical distancing means
  • Wash your hands often and thoroughly
  • Stay at home if you feel the least bit sick
  • Avoid rush hour traffic as much as possible and try to get to campus by alternative means
  • If you plan to eat while you are at the department, bring your own lunch and if possible your own tableware and cup for drinking
