The atmosphere is a chemically-active medium, consisting of gases, particles and water. The course covers fundamental aspects of cloud-, gas phase- and aerosol-chemistry. Further, the course gives an overview of meteorology and atmospheric dispersion on local as well as global scales. The course deals with several topics pertaining to climate and environmental impacts; these include photo-chemical smog, acid rain, the ozon layer, and the atmospheric cycles for carbon, sulphur, and nitrogen.

Admittance requirements

Knowledge corresponding to 30 HECs in Chemistry, including at least 7.5 HECs in Physical Chemistry. Also required is knowledge equivalent to Swedish upper secondary school course English B.
