Name

Matt DeLand, Chief Research Scientist, Science Systems and Applications Inc., Lanham, MD, USA

Research

Mr. DeLand started his career at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center 30 years ago, working with satellite instruments that were observing the newly discovered "ozone hole".  He has also used these measurements to study polar mesospheric clouds for more than 15 years, and hopes to continue that data record for many more years.  He is currently working with limb scattering measurements (similar to the upcoming MATS satellite) to add more insight to our understanding of PMCs.
