Name

Martin Renoult, PhD student, MISU

Topic

Climate change, adaptation and evolution: 6th “Mass extinction” and do we care about it?

The seminar will be based on two comments of paper (which are, by consequent, quite short and give a broad and simple overview of the geological concepts and biological concepts attached to them):

1)    Smith, 2012. Some Like it Hot.
2)    Schmidt, 2014. Some don’t like it hot.

Behind the joke titles, there will be a real and serious discussion about evolution, mass extinction in geology and the current impact of climate change on fauna/flora (which makes some sense if you follow what is happening in Australia).
