The second GABLS model intercomparison

A table with participating models with affiliation and contact persons can be found here. The observational data in the figures are from the main tower of the CASES99 experiment operated by NCAR with recalculated fluxes by Larry Mahrt. Data from the tower deployed by the Wageningen University is also presented and from rawinsoundings. Additionally, in some of the figures, data from the outer network (ABLE sites) in CASES99 are presented. An overview of the location of the observations can be found here. The symbols used for the various model results and observations are shown in the figure legend. When looking at the figures remember that the case set-up and the data starts diverging sometimes during the second night. Observational data is plotted for the entire period but should only be truly compared for the first half of the experiment. The entire simulated period October 22-24 is shown in the figures but further analysis will consider a spin-up time for the models.
