The 2nd International Limb Workshop is organised by
the Department of Meteorology
at Stockholm University and will be held in Stockholm
on October 11-14, 2004 (Monday to Thursday). This year's meeting
is sponsored by the
International Meteorological Institute in Stockholm.
The workshop is held under the auspices of
SPARC and
IGAC.
The 1st International UV/Vis Limb-Scattering Workshop was
held in Bremen in April 2003.
The workshop brought together
scientists involved in remote sensing techniques with a particular
focus on limb scattering
in the UV and visible spectral range.
The second workshop will be held in Stockholm, on October 11-14, 2004. Our ambition is to extend the programme to also include infrared and microwave/sub-mm soundings of the limb. An additional focus will be on mesospheric data comparisons.
There will be three days with oral presentations with plenty of time for formal and informal discussions. The fourth day is reserved for discussions and exchange of ideas in smaller work groups. These groups will be organized during the workshop.

We will start off with an icebreaker party at MISU on Sunday evening. On Wednesday, there will be a visit to the Vasa ship, and a conference dinner.
There will be 25 min (+5 min discussion) for invited papers and
15 min (+5 min discussion) for contributed papers.
A local computer
for data projection (powerpoint, pdf) and an overhead projector will
be available. You can bring your presentation on memory stick
or CD-ROM. Preferably, you can also upload
it in advance by sending it as an
e-mail to gumbel@misu.su.se.

The registration fee is 1200 SEK (approx. 132 EUR , 160 USD) for participants and 800 SEK (approx. 88 EUR, 106 USD) for accompanying persons. This includes the ice breaker party, the visit to the Vasa ship and the conference dinner.
