        The 9th LPMR WorkshopThe 9th International Workshop of the ICMA Working Group "Layered Phenomena in the Mesopause Region" was held in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 12-15, 2009.
The workshop was hosted by the Department of Meteorology (MISU) at Stockholm University. It was sponsored by its parent organization the International Commission on the Middle Atmosphere (ICMA), the International Meteorological Institute in Stockholm (IMI), the Swedish National Space Board (SNSB), and Esrange. DownloadsGoalThe goal of LPMR-09 was to advance our understanding of mesospheric
ice clouds and related processes in the environment of the upper mesosphere.
The workshop provided a forum for presentation and discussion of new results,
new questions and new ideas ranging from the microphysics of mesospheric
particles to the global processes controlling the state of the mesosphere.
This included new ground-based, in-situ and satellite measurements as well as
laboratory and model results on mesospheric ice phenomena and
LPMR-09 took place in Stockholm during the middle of the noctilucent
cloud season,
thus providing excellent opportunities for observing our object of research
